The World Heritage Site of Gokayama Ainokura and Suganuma villages are located in Nanto City, Toyama Prefecture. The village is a nostalgic landscape of Japan itself, with gassho-zukuri houses where life as it used to be lived is still alive today. It is a "living" World Heritage site where the same lifestyle as in the past still remains.
