The product names of the original ink "Kakimori ink" sold at Kakimori are "Poppo," "Torori," "Toto," etc. You cannot tell what color it is just by hearing the names! There are a total of 10 types of ink with names that sound like a play on words from a picture book. Only at Kakimori can you enjoy imagining the scenery and scenes associated with the ink colors and their names.

Gentle crayons of natural origin

The crayons come in a box with a stylish and simple design that even adults will want to pick up. The "Oyasai Crayons," named after vegetables and fruits, are made from rice and vegetables and are safe to put in the mouth, making them a perfect gift for small children.

The 12 colors in the "Sea Crayons," made from natural materials such as honeydew, are the colors of an ocean somewhere on earth as seen in satellite photos taken from space! Each crayon is labeled with the longitude and latitude of the location from which the color was extracted, rather than the name of the color.

Make your own custom notebook

Many visitors come to Kakimori to make custom-made notebooks, where they can combine all the materials of the notebook as they like.

The first thing to choose is the size of the notebook, the front cover and the back cover. There are also a variety of materials to choose from, including leather, fabric, and paper, with more than 60 different types available at any given time. Some of the designs change with the seasons, so you will have to wait until the day of the event to see which one you like best!

There are always 30 types of paper available for various uses, including those suitable for fountain pens and those suitable for pasting photos. The rings are available in five different colors to match the design and color of the cover. The clasps that accentuate the cover of the notebook come in three types: rubber, seal, and button, and the colors of the clasps can be freely combined.

Once you have selected all the materials for your notebook, the staff will bind the notebook by hand. It is definitely exciting to see the combination of materials you have chosen being made into a notebook!

Even if you run out of the notebook's inner pages, you can keep your favorite cover and just replace the contents, so you can create your ideal notebook.

Mix and match your ideal colors to create your own custom-made ink

You can experience the "Custom Ink Workshop" at the Inkstand on the second floor.
After choosing two or three colors from the 17 Inkstand colors, you can mix different colors of ink little by little while visualizing the color you want to create. Enjoy watching the colors change as they mix in the beaker and get closer to your ideal color.

Once you have completed the color you have in mind by repeating the process of trial drawing and ink mixing, the staff will move on to the production process. The staff will make fine adjustments and mix the ink according to your order. The finished ink will be put into a bottle for you to take home. You will also receive a recipe card with a serial number, so you can repeat your order even if you run out of ink.

You can spend time alone with your colors, or you can show each other your colors with your friends. Also, you may have trouble mixing the colors, but the staff will gently help you out! It is also recommended that you bring a photo or magazine clipping that gives you an idea of the color you want to make.
