Ajigasawa town is packed!

Ajigasawa is the town where you can see the sea when you take the Resort Shirakami from JR Aomori station. 10 minutes walk from JR Ajigasawa station, you can go to Hamanasu Park and Nagisa Bridge where there is also a beach. After a leisurely stroll along the sea, we recommend "Umi no Eki Wando" (Sea Station), which is not far from the station.
In addition to souvenirs, it sells farm produce and has restaurants, and is loved not only by tourists but also by locals, with many people visiting every day.

Gonbe no Ten Kikuya Ikayaki (Gonbe's store) offers Ajigasawa's specialty, fresh dried grilled squid. It is a must-try when you visit Ajigasawa.
You can also drink fresh juice made with plenty of fruit!
The name of the juice is "Marugoto Juice", and it is made with fruits of the season as well as the standard fruits. You can look forward to seeing what kind of juice you can find depending on the time of year you visit.

Don't forget to pick up some souvenirs!
The souvenir shop "Sea Poppo" offers a large selection of Ajigasawa's famous sweets, local sake, and Wasao Gutz, the busaikawa dog. There was also a colorful local cider with a motif of the Gonoh Line.

Must-see for Sumo fans! Ajigasawa Sumo Hall "Mainoumi Furusato Pier

Nishi-tsugaru-gun, Aomori Prefecture, is one of the most active sumo areas in Japan. Ajigasawa is also the birthplace of Mai-no-Kai, a former sumo wrestler who is known as a "department store of skills. Because of this, the Ajigasawa Sumo Museum Mainoumi's hometown pier is located on the second floor. Visitors can see the valuable trophy, make-up ring, and the ring reproduced in two thirds of its original size, all free of charge.

This year is the 30th anniversary of Shirakami Sanchi World Heritage registration!

The Shirakami Sanchi, which straddles Aomori and Akita prefectures, was registered as Japan's first UNESCO World Natural Heritage site in recognition of the value of its ecosystem, which includes a natural forest of beech trees. This December marks the 30th anniversary of its registration as a World Natural Heritage site.
In conjunction with this, various events will be held this year in Ajigasawa Town and other locations in Aomori and Akita prefectures. We hope you will join us!
