Let's go see the famous "Yokota" of Haneda Festival!

Haneda Rengo Mikoshi
The portable shrine of the Haneda Festival is commonly called "Yokota," and is carried in a unique and heroic way, with the right person leaning 90 degrees to the left and right, and the left person crouching down, repeating this process in turn.

On Sunday afternoon, 14 portable shrines from 14 town councils parade through the streets of Yokota for nearly three hours.
Dozens of volunteers from Haneda Airport, including flight attendants from All Nippon Airways and Japan Airlines, will be on hand to distribute drinks, fans, and other refreshments to add to the parade.
The "yokota" is a brave and heroic way of carrying a yokota, which resembles a boat bobbing in the waves and is unique to Haneda, which prospered as a fishing town in the past. I believe that Haneda Shrine is the only place in all of Japan where so many flight attendants from various airlines participate in this festival, even though Haneda Airport is the Ujiko (shrine).

The "Ujigami Shrine of Haneda," revered by those in the aviation industry

Haneda Sojinja, the general guardian of Haneda

Haneda Shrine is the guardian deity of the entire Haneda area, including Haneda Airport. The shrine is highly revered by airline companies and those involved in aviation, and is visited throughout the year to pray for air safety and flight safety.
Many people dedicate prayer ema (votive picture tablet) to pray for the success of pilots and cabin attendants!
In 1861, when the smallpox epidemic broke out, the shogun Tokugawa Iesada paid a visit to the shrine to pray for the cure of the disease, and was cured. The "Haneda Fujizuka" on the grounds of the shrine is a symbol of the shrine's prosperity.
Sengen Shrine is enshrined at the top of Haneda Fuji Mound (a cultural asset of Ota Ward).
The deity of Sengen Shrine, Kihanasakuyahime-no-mikoto, is said to have the divine virtues of ensuring easy childbirth and giving birth to a child.
