Handmade candy made by Kyomyo-do!
Kawasaki Daishi" in Kanagawa Prefecture is well known as "Odaishi-sama, the Great Monk of Kanagawa," who protects people from bad luck. There is a shopping street called "Nakamise" along the approach to Kawasaki Daishi. Among the many souvenirs such as yakuyaku-yoke manju and kyuju-mochi (rice cakes), we recommend the "Daishi's specialty, the original cough drop candy from Kyoban-do! I actually tried it.

Speaking of souvenirs from Kawasaki Daishi, "candy

Kawasaki Daishi's candy is selected as one of the 100 best products of Kanagawa and is famous as a souvenir. It is made of hard candy that is stretched thin and cut into pieces about two centimeters long. The sound of the candy being cut rhythmically echoes through the streets, attracting the attention of visitors!

Candy has long been a popular souvenir item because of its longevity, and there are many candy shops lining Nakamise-dori. Also, since Kawasaki Daishi is famous for its charms to ward off bad luck, the process of "cutting the candy" is also meant to "cut off bad luck.

I can't stop coughing.... In such a case, try this cough suppressant candy!

The "Daishi's Specialty: Hyoban-do's Original Cough Suppressing Candy" from Reputation Hall is a must-try on days when you have a cough or when your throat gets irritated!

This time, we visited the Kawasaki Underground Mall Azalea Store of Reputation-do, a long-established store with its main store in front of the Kawasaki Daishi Gate. Reputation Store began in the Edo period. The shop became known as "Hyoban-ya" because of the delicious taste of the sweets it made, and later became the current name of "Reputation-do.

The store's most popular product, "Daishi's specialty: Hyoban-do's original cough syrup," is an original product of Hyoban-do, which has been produced since the late Edo period. It is an original product made by using mizuame (starch syrup) and carefully selected Chinese herbs. Although it contains wild plant extracts, it has no habit or irritation and tastes like candy candy made of tortoiseshell, making it easy to lick for all generations, from children to the elderly. It also comes in a zippered bag, making it easy to carry around.

Whenever you are around someone who is coughing or has a bad throat, you can gently give them one of these lozenges and they will surely be pleased!

Try the original cough suppressant candy!

When you hear the words "cough lozenges," many people may imagine a soothing, huckleberry-flavored taste. However, Reputation Hall's original cough suppressant candy has a gentle sweetness like sugar and syrup.

I had a sore throat during the change of season, and while licking the lozenges, the sore throat did indeed decrease and the coughing calmed down. Of course, cold medicine is the best, but it is worth a try because it tastes so good!
