One big poplar tree, a symbolic landscape of Biei Hill

Many adults may feel nostalgia for this tree standing on a hill in Biei-cho, almost in the center of Hokkaido. It is a large poplar tree, more than 90 years old, and was featured in a commercial for Nissan's car "Skyline" in 1972! It was named "Ken and Mary" after the couple who appeared in the commercial at that time. The solitary figure standing alone is still one of the symbolic landscapes of the hills of Biei, and is also a popular driving spot.

Enjoy the blue sky, white clouds, and the surrounding scenery and expressions!
