Ajigasawa, located in the western part of Aomori Prefecture, is surrounded by nature such as the World Heritage Site Shirakami Sanchi and the Sea of Japan. Ajigasawa's specialty is watermelon! Watermelons are usually produced in warmer regions, but in fact, they are also produced in Aomori. This time, we will introduce "Ajigasawa Watermelon Wine" which is made from Ajigasawa watermelon to feel summer.

Ajigasawa Watermelon Wine

Ajigasawa Watermelon Wine" developed by Ajigasawa Tourist Association is made from "Benimakura" variety of watermelon harvested in Ajigasawa and grapes produced in Aomori Prefecture. Benimakura" is a large oval-shaped watermelon, a popular variety with excellent sweetness and aroma.

Ajigasawa Town faces the Sea of Japan and has many sandy fields, which are ideal for watermelon cultivation! The temperature difference between morning and evening is large, so the watermelons produced here have a much higher sugar content and are juicy.

What is the taste you are interested in?

The color is a gorgeous and elegant rosé, reminiscent of a watermelon. It has a sweet aroma characteristic of watermelon. Slightly sweet, it has the fresh sweetness and crispness of watermelon. With a 9% alcohol content, it is slightly lower than other wines and easy to drink. We recommend drinking it as an aperitif or after-dinner dessert wine due to its light and refreshing taste. It is also a perfect accompaniment to sweets.
