Certified by Guinness World Records! Only here can you hear the sound of the "Wooden Music Space"!

Shelter Nanyo Hall, located in Nanyo City, Yamagata Prefecture, is a wooden concert hall that takes advantage of the bounty of the rich local forests, and was built using cedar wood cut from the mountains of Nanyo.
While most cultural halls are made of reinforced concrete, the main hall was recognized by Guinness World Records® on December 21, 2015, as the "Largest wooden concert hall.

With a maximum seating capacity of 1,403 people, the hall's concept is "serenity and beautiful acoustics," and the soft texture and dynamic, beautiful acoustics of the wooden structure can be felt with all five senses.

There are many ways to enjoy the music here other than visiting concerts and events!

The first thing that catches the eye upon entering the hall are the eight large wooden pillars that extend all the way to the ceiling.
These pillars are made of wood from the representative mountains of Yamagata, and this space is breathtaking!
It may be interesting to learn about the representative mountains of Yamagata from the individuality of the trees.

There is also a room called "Mokuiku Hiroba" right after the entrance.
This room is a children's playground filled with the warmth of wood, wooden toys (wooden play equipment), and picture books, and is a space for everyone to enjoy.
There is also a nursing space and diaper changing area for parents with small children.

On the walls of the museum, there are concert posters signed by celebrities who have held concerts at Shelter Nanyo, and we would love to see our guesses in concert at Shelter Nanyo Hall! It is a special place.
