Zenkoji Temple is one of the most popular sightseeing spots in Nagano Prefecture. The approach to Zenkoji Temple and the area around the temple is always filled with visitors and tourists.
Mallika Brewing is a craft beer café and brewery that started as a café space in November 2021, prior to the operation of the brewery, and started brewing craft beer in June 2022.
The 40-50 year old building was renovated to house a brewery with three tanks on the first floor and a café space with counter, table, and sofa seating on the second floor.
The interior was done as a DIY project, creating a warm, handmade atmosphere.
There is a wooden deck near the entrance on the first floor, and drinking outside is recommended on warm, sunny days.

As the name "Craft Beer Cafe & Bar" suggests, Mallika Brewing is not only a craft beer bar, but also a cafe, where both drinkers and non-drinkers can enjoy themselves. In addition to home-brewed craft beers, they also have a selection of craft beers from popular domestic breweries, as well as coffee and soft drinks for non-alcoholic beers.
I ordered the "Mallika011-Beniyu IPA," a home-brewed beer. Koggyoku is a dark red apple with a strong sour taste, and it is also the apple that the owner wanted to make into a sake when she first visited Nagano City. This beautiful amber-colored craft beer has a refreshing taste that matches the sourness of the Bingtama with the bitterness of the IPA, and I found myself downing it in no time at all.
