Cherry blossoms blooming beautifully on the Meguro River can be viewed from the boat. The view from the roofless "Unkawa-bune," GEAL's original boat, is as photogenic as if you were cruising through a tunnel of cherry blossoms.

◎ A special feeling you can't experience on land - a luxurious time to view cherry blossoms ◎

The most important point of the Meguro River cruise is the view from the boat of the cherry blossoms weeping down from both banks of the river, and the elegant time you can spend slowly enjoying the 800 cherry trees over a distance of about 4 km for about 60 minutes. The view from the surface of the Meguro River is spectacular and elegant, regardless of the crowds in the city.

The Meguro River Hanami Cruise can be enjoyed for about three weeks as the cherry blossoms along the river, such as Someiyoshino and Yaezakura, gradually change their appearance depending on the time of year you board the cruise.

Experienced guides will guide you through the cruise, so you can enjoy more than just cherry blossom viewing.

We hope you will experience a new style of hanami in 2023. Why don't you take your time to appreciate the fantastic sight from the surface of the Meguro River, which you cannot usually experience, from the boat?

Cruising in full bloom! The flower rafts were almost ready!
The Meguro River and rows of cherry trees look great between the buildings!
A little more than a week has passed since the last time I visited. I was nervous when I went to see the cherry blossoms, wondering if they were already in full bloom or had already begun to fall, but as luck would have it, they were almost in full bloom or just beginning to fall. It had been raining for a while and the temperature had been low, so the blooming speed seemed to have slowed down.
On the day of our visit (March 30), even though it was during the daytime on a weekday, there were many cherry blossom-viewing visitors and cruising boats were constantly coming and going. The day was warm and sunny for the first time in a while, making it a perfect day for a walk!
It looks like the warm weather will continue from now on. From this weekend to early next week, it looks like we can enjoy cruising around while enjoying the cherry blossom blizzard and flower rafts after the cherry blossoms are in full bloom.

Lights up! Cherry blossoms at night were beautiful!
Hanami cruise was also in service! (Taken on the night of March 21)
A week has passed since our last visit, and the cherry blossoms are almost in full bloom! On the day of the photo shoot (March 22), temperatures were rising and the blooming seemed to have advanced considerably. Even though it was a weekday evening, many people were there to view the blossoms. It was a good time for photography, as rain was forecasted for the following day!

However, most of the double-flowered cherry trees that were in full bloom last time were already gone. The weather is forecasted to go downhill from now on, and we will be able to enjoy the flower rafts after the rain stops.

Someiyoshino cherry trees are about one minute in bloom?
The early flowering yaezakura (double-flowered cherry trees) were almost in full bloom!
Tokyo is the first city in Japan to declare the cherry blossoms in bloom. How many cherry trees are in bloom now?

Here is a report on the blooming status! (As of the evening of March 16, 2023)

Cherry blossoms along the Meguro River. The cherry trees lined with Someiyoshino cherry trees may not seem to be in full bloom at first glance, but upon closer inspection, I found a few cherry trees in bloom here and there! They were about one minute in bloom.

However, there were a few early blooming cherry trees that were almost in full bloom! It is only at this time of year that you can enjoy a variety of cherry blossoms!

It looks like it will be warmer next week, so the blooming will be earlier.

We hope you will find this information useful in planning your cherry blossom viewing!
