Eitamado, located in Hatago-cho, Yamagata City, is a long-established Japanese sweets store loved by local residents. The reason for this is its dorayaki! The store opens at 9:00 a.m., but many people visit even before it opens. It is a 10-minute walk from the East Ote-mon Gate of Kasumijo Park, Yamagata City's famous cherry blossom viewing spot, so it is also recommended for cherry blossom viewing.

When you enter the store, the first thing you will see is a large showcase filled with the store's signature product, dorayaki. What is surprising is the wide variety. The most common type of dorayaki is red bean paste, but Eitokudo's dorayaki are not limited to red bean paste. Eitokudo's dorayaki are a fusion of Japanese and Western flavors, and are in line with the times. In addition to year-round items, there are also seasonal items, but the most popular items are often sold out by mid-morning. It is hard to decide which flavor to try, but it is also a fun time.

The seasonal Mascarpone & Strawberry is a dorayaki that combines the refreshing taste of mascarpone cheese with the sweet and sour taste of strawberries. This one seems to go well with tea.

Caramel & Walnut

Caramel x Walnut, filled with caramel cream and caramel sauce, has a mature taste with a perfect balance of sweetness and bittersweet caramel sauce. The savory flavor and texture of the walnuts also add a nice accent.
