Landmark of Tokorozawa Sakura Town

Kadokawa Musashino Museum

Kadokawa Musashino Museum opened in November 2020 as a landmark of Tokorozawa Sakura Town, a center of Cool Japan that unites events, hotels, restaurants, bookstores, offices, shrines, and all other cultural elements.
It is a completely new concept cultural complex combining a library, art museum, and museum, reorganizing all kinds of knowledge across genres such as art, literature, and natural history, making it a museum unlike any other in the world.

Impactful exterior

The exterior of the museum is a work of art in itself, and its presence is overwhelming to behold.
The design was supervised by Kengo Kuma, a leading Japanese architect known for his work on the National Stadium and Takanawa Gateway Station.

Places to see

The Kadokawa Musashino Museum has five floors.
The first floor houses the Manga and Novel Library with approximately 37,000 books.
The second floor houses the lobby, café, and museum store. The third floor houses the EJ Anime Museum, which introduces Japan's world-class anime culture.
The fourth floor contains Edit Town - Book Street, where 25,000 books are distributed along a 50-meter street; the Aramata Wonder Treasure House, an amazing room supervised by Hiroshi Aramata that focuses on imagination and how to show anima; and the Bookshelf Theater, a book space surrounded by giant bookshelves measuring approximately 8 meters. The fifth floor features the "Bookshelf Theater," a book space surrounded by a giant 8-meter bookshelf.
On the fifth floor is the SACULA DINER, a restaurant that makes local production for local consumption its motto.

Musashino Cuisine" features many dishes from Saitama Prefecture, including Tokorozawa.

SACULA DINER is the main dining room located on the fifth floor of the Kadokawa Musashino Museum.
The restaurant is decorated in a monotone color scheme, creating a sophisticated atmosphere.
The ingredients used are characterized by the large selection of food produced in Saitama Prefecture, including Tokorozawa.
The restaurant can be used for a wide range of occasions, from a reasonably priced, hearty lunch, to a variety of a la carte menus in the evening, to gorgeous course meals to be savored on special occasions.

The highlight of the menu is the "Oimo Ball" using Tokorozawa's specialty, sweet potatoes.

Facing a beautiful water basin, the concept of KadoCafe is a place where women can relax and gather.
KadoCafe's new proposal: selling mainly oimo balls and drinks, the restaurant is self-service and easy to use, so you can take a break when you visit the museum or TokoroZawa Sakura Town. It is also ideal for a break when visiting the museum or Tokorozawa Sakura Town.
