Hello everyone!
The weather is getting warmer day by day and we can feel the arrival of spring, but spring is all about cherry blossoms!

In this issue, I would like to introduce some of the best cherry blossom spots in Kashiwazaki, from the major ones to places known only to the locals!

◎Akasakayama Park ◎Banjindo

Akasakayama Park" is a hilly area covered with rich nature and trees.

Akasakayama Park is a park with playground equipment where children can play safely.
The park has about 350 Someiyoshino cherry trees, as well as double and weeping cherry trees, and visitors can enjoy their beautiful appearance.
The slide is also very popular among children!

The Kashiwazaki Municipal Museum, where you can experience the history and culture of Kashiwazaki City, and Shounsanso, known for its beautiful autumn leaves, are located nearby.
The Kimura Tea Ceremony Museum, located within the grounds of Shounsanso, offers tea ceremonies without any formalities using national treasure tea utensils from the museum's collection.
The Kimura Tea Ceremony Museum is closed for the winter season from December 1.

Next, we will introduce you to the cherry blossoms of Banshindo.

It is said that in 1274, when Nichiren Shonin Shonin pardoned the people of Sado Island, he invited and enshrined the spirits of the 30 guardian deities of the temple.

The Banshindo Hall was once home to the city's earliest blooming cold-blooming cherry tree, and has been a popular cherry blossom viewing spot since the old days.
The cherry blossoms are worth seeing from its location on a hill, with the port of Kashiwazaki spread out below!

There are also recommended cherry blossom viewing spots around Aomi River Station, the closest station to the sea!

From Aomi River Station, turn right at the old Hokkoku Kaido sign and walk up the steep hill for about 5 minutes to the "Sake no Shinchaya" where the cherry blossoms bloom magnificently in front of the magnificent Sea of Japan spreading out below the cliff!
It is a fantastic view that cannot be seen anywhere else.

Of course, you can also view the cherry blossoms from the station!

◎Yoshiyabu River ◎Naka Sabaishi Community Center

Next is the Yoshiyabu River in the Hijaku district.

More than 30 Someiyoshino cherry trees bloom beautifully along the Yoshiyabu River, and in spring, people can be seen walking around the area and taking pictures.

There was a time when the waterside environment deteriorated due to the industrialization and residentialization of the surrounding area, but the local community took the initiative in river environment improvement activities, cherry tree planting and protection activities, and a beautiful river and rows of cherry trees were created!
As a result of the community's efforts, in 2017 (Heisei 29), the company also received the "Award for Distinguished Contribution to Local Environmental Beautification" from the Ministry of the Environment!

Nakasabaishi Community Center

Next stop is Nakasabaishi Community Center.

The area around the grounds of the Nakasabaishi Community Center is filled with magnificent cherry blossoms every year, delighting the eyes of local residents.

Tanigawa Shinden

Yaezakura (double-flowered cherry blossoms) in Tanigawa-shinden terraced rice paddies in Shimizudani area!

Yaezakura (double-flowered cherry trees) have been planted by volunteers in the area where the terraced rice paddies of Tanigawa Shinden used to be.
The total number of trees planted is over 1,000!

The area is a scenic spot with Mt.
You can spend a relaxing time while feeling the warm spring sunlight.

The park serves as an evacuation site in the event of a disaster, and also functions as a relay base for initial aid and emergency transportation!

Yume-no-mori Park

Last but not least is Yume-no-mori Park.
Yume-no-mori Park is a 30-hectare satoyama park with a rich satoyama environment of forests, waterfront, and fields, where you can come into contact with a variety of satoyama creatures such as killifish, loach, gibbons, and catapults.
Many rape blossoms are also in bloom♪

Yume no Mori Park is popular among the citizens of Kashiwazaki as a "park where you can enjoy cherry blossoms and rape blossoms," and the Kita-kobushi, which blooms along the waterfront, is the symbolic tree of Yume no Mori Park!
Along the roadway, rape blossoms are in full bloom, making it a great photo spot!
