What is Fujinohana Monogatari?
The wisteria blooms from mid-April to mid-May and for a month, just like a picture scroll, hence the name "Fujinohana Monogatari" (the tale of wisteria flowers). Wisteria is said to be one of Japan's oldest flowering trees, and the month-long period during which it is in full bloom is well worth a visit.
