TWIN-LINE HOTEL KARUIZAWA JAPAN

Hotel with art scattered throughout the building.

Exterior view

TWIN-LINE HOTEL KARUIZAWA JAPAN opened in July 2020 in Karuizawa, Nagano Prefecture, and is conveniently located about a 7-minute walk from JR Karuizawa Station and close to sightseeing spots such as Kumoba Pond and Old Karuizawa Ginza.
The hotel's interior is decorated in warm colors to create a stylish and relaxing atmosphere, and artwork is displayed throughout, making the hotel a great place to take pictures.

I stayed at the TWIN-LINE HOTEL KARUIZAWA JAPAN and would like to introduce the hotel and its interior.

Inside the hotel dotted with photo-worthy spots

As the title suggests, the hotel is dotted with photo-worthy spots. Artwork is on display, and the walls and elevator doors are decorated with designs. The designs and the lighting that illuminates the corridors vary from floor to floor, so visitors can enjoy strolling through the museum to take a stylish picture.

Also, although not art, aroma bath salts are available on the second floor. There are several varieties available, so you can mix your own, or if you are not confident about mixing your own, there are also pre-mixed ones. Furthermore, coffee service (15:00~24:00, 7:30~11:00) is available on the first floor, so you can enjoy not only exploring the hotel but also staying in your room.

Guest rooms

The room we will be staying in this time is a "Standard Double Room". The room is 17㎡ in size, not exactly spacious, but you won't feel cramped because of the drawers and suitcase space under the bed and the foldable desk that makes effective use of the limited space. The rooms are also equipped with numerous electrical outlets, so even if two people stay in the same room, they will not have to fight over the outlets.

Artwork is displayed in the rooms as well as inside the hotel, and each room has a different design, so you can enjoy wondering what kind of design you will be shown in your room.

The bathrooms are stylishly designed in white with wood accents, and are also equipped with many electrical outlets. Amenities provided include bath towels, hand towels, cups, hand and facial soap, body soap, shampoo, and conditioner, and other amenities such as toothbrushes can be procured at the amenity bar on the first floor.
There is a double bed on a small floor. Under the bed, there are drawers and open suitcase space for storage.
A bare light bulb and a painting. The ruggedness blends in with the art.

Restaurant "Jose Luis Karuizawa" and lounge

The plan I booked this time was a dinner and breakfast package called "[Half-board, Shinshu x Spanish] A refined dish full of the rich flavor of Shinshu, a treasure trove of ingredients.
The dinner was a rare opportunity to enjoy Spanish cuisine in the Karuizawa area, and was characterized by its extensive use of ingredients produced in Shinshu. On this day, the menu included the following.
Coca
・3 kinds of pintxos
・Sopa de ajo (warm garlic soup)
・Seared Iberico pork bacon and watercress vegetable salad
・Scallops, mushrooms and cheese ajillo
・Souffle tortilla
・Roasted Japanese beef with escaribata of Shinshu vegetables
・Traditional seafood paella (rice paella)
・Basque style Cheesecake
・Coffee or tea

Jose Luis Karuizawa has a chic atmosphere, with alcohol lamps lit on the tables, and time passes slowly. In such an environment, you will have a luxurious time tucking into delicious Spanish cuisine that makes the most of ingredients from Shinshu. I was freed from the busyness and hustle and bustle of daily life and was able to fully immerse myself in the Karuizawa lifestyle.

Roasted Japanese beef with escaribata of Shinshu vegetables. The flavor of the meat was well appreciated!
The lounge with soft sofas and flickering flames creating a comfortable space.

The last dessert on the menu was served at the lounge next to Jose Luis Karuizawa. The fireplace that symbolizes the TWIN-LINE HOTEL KARUIZAWA JAPAN is connected to the ceiling of the atrium, and the soft sofas are lined up around the fireplace. The soft sofas are lined up around the fireplace, where you can enjoy your dessert and gaze at the flickering fire while wrapped in the soft sofas. The relaxing effect is so outstanding that you can't help but doze off.

After dinner, we recommend the *Shinshu Free Flow Drink Corner, which is held as a "night cap" time only for guests. You can enjoy Shinshu wine (white and red), Shinshu whiskey, and apple juice at the deli corner or in your room. How about a moment before going to bed?
The time is 20:00-22:30 and may be subject to change depending on the number of guests.

Basque cheesecake. No matter how full I am, for some reason I can't resist an after-dinner dessert.
You can also enjoy snacks at the Shinshu Free Flow Drink Corner.

Breakfast is served at Jose Luis Karuizawa, just like dinner.
Breakfast is a pintxos salad plate with a choice of main dish. The choice of tortilla, white curry, French toast, highland vegetable salad, or fried chicken was available, and I chose the "Nagano highland vegetable salad with bell pepper and apple dressing" to better enjoy the highland resort Karuizawa. I chose the "Nagano Prefecture Highland Vegetable Salad with Paprika and Apple Dressing" to better enjoy the highland resort of Karuizawa.

The menu for both dinner and breakfast is subject to change depending on the availability of ingredients.

This highland vegetable salad is perfect for a morning in Karuizawa.

Check out to your fullest enjoyment.

Unba Pond under a piercing blue sky. It takes about 15 minutes on foot to get to Unba Pond. It is just the right amount of exercise.

Although our stay was only one night and two days, we were able to fully enjoy the charm of TWIN-LINE HOTEL KARUIZAWA JAPAN and relieve our daily fatigue.
After checking out, I strolled around the nearby Kumoba Pond and Old Karuizawa Ginza before heading home.

I would recommend everyone to stay at TWIN-LINE HOTEL KARUIZAWA JAPAN during their stay in Karuizawa.
