Shirahama Shrine is dedicated to Mishima-Daimyojin, who is said to have come to Izu on the Kuroshio Current as far back as 2,400 years ago and created the seven islands of Izu in seven days. It is a shrine with a long history that is actually mentioned in a book written 1,200 years ago. The majestic main shrine dedicated to the god of commerce and fishery is very atmospheric.

Also on the grounds is Mimeme Benzaiten, the god of marriage.

There is a lot of nature left in the very spacious precincts of the shrine. Behind the shrine, you can also see dynamic landforms such as sea caves where the cliffs were carved by waves! (currently off-limits).
(Currently off-limits) Please visit the shrine and the Shirahama Coast next to it.

For reservations for train + accommodations in the Izu area, please refer to the JR East View Dynamic Rail Package.
