Kenrokuen Teahouse Mijotei is a cafe designed by architect Kengo Kuma.

Walk straight from the side of the Katsurazaka exit of Kenrokuen Garden toward the teahouse street (Edomachi-dori), and you will see "Kenrokuen Chaya Mijotei" at the very front of the street. From the outside, the stylish building appears to have been newly renovated in 2019, designed by world-renowned architect Kengo Kuma. The interior of the restaurant has a calm, black-based appearance, making it a place to relax after a stroll through Kenrokuen Garden.

Selected Matcha Parfait" using the finest matcha green tea

I decided to have the most popular "Selected Green Tea Parfait" at the cafe on the first floor. The tea is made from the aromatic matcha of Nodaya Tea House, a long-established tea store in Kanazawa that has been in business for 160 years. The moment when the strong-flavored matcha and sour strawberries mingle in your mouth is indescribably delicious.

View of Kanazawa Castle and Ishikawa Gate

Located near Kenrokuen Garden, the cafe offers a view of Kanazawa Castle's Ishikawa Gate. It was a sunny day just before winter began. The sunlight made Ishikawa Gate look beautiful. I had thought that the peaceful and delicious time would flow leisurely, but it seemed to be short-lived, perhaps because I wanted to eat more! I thought it would be a peaceful and delicious time, but it seemed shorter because I wanted to eat more.
