Ayu fish from the Kuji River, said to be the best ayu fish in Japan

The Kuji River running through Fukushima Prefecture's Yamatsuri Town is one of the best places in Japan to catch ayu (sweetfish), and is visited by many anglers every year as the first Sunday in June is the first day of the season for ayu fishing in the Tohoku region.
The clean water produces a rich moss for food, which the ayu from Yamatsuri is said to be the best in Japan in terms of both taste and appearance.
Along the national highway near the Yamatsuri Mountain Station, there is a row of stores that serve the famous grilled ayu fish, and the aroma of freshly grilled ayu fish is said to waft through the air.
The crispy skin, which is grilled over charcoal, and the soft, fluffy meat can be savored.
When you dust off the hot ayu fish, your mouth will be filled with the traveler's love of the trip.
