It is only in Toyama Bay that red snow crabs are caught at a depth of 1,000 meters, and Toyama Bay is the only bay in Japan with a red snow crab fishing ground inside the bay! Because of the proximity of the fishing grounds, freshly caught crabs are traded at the market.

Toyama Bay Shokudo (Toyama Bay Restaurant), located in the commercial facility "MAROOT" in front of Toyama Station, serves seafood from the adjacent fresh fish restaurant "Uohiro" in a typical Toyama menu such as seafood rice bowls and nigirizushi. During the red snow crab season, a corner of the fresh fish section is filled with piles of boiled crabs. All seafood lined up in the store can be eaten in the restaurant, and for a cooking fee, you can have the crab split into bite-size pieces or the seafood cleaned. You can also eat in with pre-cooked sashimi, sushi, and side dishes. Since it is located right next to Toyama Station, you can enjoy Toyama's seafood until just before the train departs.
