Omori Area Recommendation
Message from Mr. Truong, Ota Ambassador
International City Ota Ambassador Mr. Truong Sok Seraimongkol from Cambodia Welcome to Ota City!" in his native language- Please introduce yourself. ឈួន សុខសិរីមង្គល ( Chuong Sok Serai Mongkol) My name is Chuong and I am from Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Phnom Penh is the capital of Cambodia and is relatively small for a capital city with a total area of 679㎢. It is a moderately sized and very beautiful city.
What brought you to Japan? It was to learn about Japan's excellent technology! I am currently studying at Nihon Kogakuin College of Engineering, Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering. Next year, in my third year, I will transfer to the Department of Electronics and Electricity in the Faculty of Engineering at my university. My goal is to be involved in research that will serve as a bridge between Japan and Cambodia, and by making use of this research, I want to become a useful person for Japan and Cambodia.
What do you have in Japan that you don't have in your home country? In my home country, everyone has a motorcycle or a car, so there is not much public transportation. In other words, in Cambodia, there are no trains running in the city! On the other hand, in Japan, most people use public transportation to get to work, which was very surprising! One thing I noticed when I came to Japan is that Japanese trains are very efficient public transportation.
Favorite spot 1: Jonanjima Seaside Park
Sandy beach and an aircraft View from Jonanjima Seaside Park
Only those in the know know! The perfect spot for a stroll!
There is no nearest station, but you can see to Haneda Airport, which is worth the trip. If you want to go there, take the Mori 32 bus (Jonanjima Circulation) from JR Omori Station or Keikyu Heiwajima Station. You can see airplanes right overhead, and the park has a sandy beach, making it a very pleasant place to spend time. There is shade around the rows of trees, and some people were camping. Highly recommended as a place to release stress! Jonanjima Seaside Park Skateboarding Plaza
Jonanjima Seaside Park has a skateboarding plaza.
The auto-camping area is a spectacular urban spot where you can enjoy the view of the seaside and airplanes. The view is especially beautiful in the evening and at night!
*Advance reservations are required to use the campground and other facilities.

Favorite spot 2: Heiwa-no-mori Park
A peaceful place
Hyotan Pond
Heiwa-no-mori Park is one of the parks in Ota Ward where beautiful scenery is abundant. The photo above is one that Truong took himself. This pond with beautiful scenery is called "Hyotan Pond. Anywhere in Heiwa-no-mori Park is beautiful, but I think "Hyotan Pond" is the most beautiful, so this is the best place to visit!
You can also enjoy field athletics in the park.
Both children and adults can play to their heart's content at the Heiwa-no-mori Park Field Athletic Complex! Please come dressed for the challenge, even if you don't mind getting dirty. There are high walls to climb, zip lines and suspension bridges. The athletic activity over the logs floating in the pond is a thrilling experience! It is a good idea to bring a change of clothes just in case. An admission fee is required for field athletics. Please check the website in advance for information on holidays and opening hours (last admission time).
