Spectacular views from the train windows

The Flower Nagai Line runs from Akayu Station in Nanyo City through Kawanishi Town and Nagai City to Arato in Shirataka Town, a distance of about 30 kilometers one way, taking about one hour. The route is named after the many flowery spots along the route, which can be seen from the windows of the train.
The scenery is beautifully decorated with wrapped trains such as the "Mocchi-go" with a picture of a rabbit and the "Swing Girls," which commemorates the fact that the train was used as the setting for the movie "Swing Girls.
Mocchi-go's "Mocchi-" refers to "Mocchi-chan," a rabbit who is the signature stationmaster of Miyauchi Station. A 10-minute walk from the station takes you to Kumano Taisha Shrine, which is said to be the Ise of Tohoku, and finding all the hidden carvings of rabbits is said to bring good luck...!
